About Us

Seattle Center Foundation actively inspires broad community engagement to support and promote the evolution of Seattle Center. You’ll find us advocating for the Century 21 Master Plan, seeking public and private funds for capital improvements, supporting free public programs, and bringing together the organizations and individuals who value Seattle Center as a civic asset.

Seattle Center is our community gathering place. It is part cultural center and part park, a tourist attraction and a place for family educational adventures. At Seattle Center, visitors can experience history, participate in nearly constant cultural programs, and find a quiet place of reflection in the middle of the city.

A group of civic leaders, inspired by the legacy of the 1962 World’s Fair, came together in 1977 to form a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization to support Seattle Center, a civic center owned and operated by the City of Seattle. Since that time, Seattle Center Foundation has brought millions of dollars to enhance the Center. Walk this 74-acre campus and you’ll experience these gifts, from buildings like Marion Oliver McCaw Hall and Fisher Pavilion to outdoor sculptures such as the Olympic Iliad and Black Lightning, and the iconic International Fountain.
