Seattle World’s Fair Gallery
Seattle World’s Fair Gallery Now Closed
The 1962 World’s Fair introduced Seattle to the world and initiated an era of unprecedented growth and creativity. The space age exposition from April 21st to October 21st left the legacy of such icons at the Monorail, Space Needle, and the Pacific Science Center. It also left the 74-acre civic center, Seattle Center.
In 2010 and 2011 Seattle Center Foundation set up a Seattle World’s Fair Gallery inside Center House so visitors could experience some original artifacts from this transformative event in our community’s history.
Due to construction at Center House in 2011, the Gallery will be closed on July 17, 2011. Check out our Story Share website to see a “people’s history” of the World’s Fair, and mark your calendar for April 21, 2012 when the 50th anniversary begins, including an exciting exhibit in partnership with the Museum of History & Industry.
