Community Outreach Volunteers
April 7, 2010  |  Volunteers

Ever wanted to be right at the heart of the action while still doing something important to build stronger communities?

Seattle Center Foundation (SCF) is expanding its community outreach efforts with to increase its presence at events held on the Seattle Center campus.  We have planned involvement throughout the year starting with having visitor’s booths at the Northwest Folklife in May and continuing through Bumbershoot over Labor Day Weekend.  SCF seeks volunteers to staff these outreach booths. Volunteers will interact with the public, explain Center events and programs and chat with visitors about the 50th Anniversary of the Seattle World’s Fair which will be held in 2012.

Desirable Skills:

Enjoy working with the general public. Excellent communication/customer service skills combined with an interest in history, culture and visitor services.  Should be comfortable with public speaking, handling multiple/concurrent tasks, and have a keen interest in learning new information.   Enthusiasm for Seattle Center Foundation, The Next Fifty and Seattle Center.

Time Commitment: 4-6 months, 2-3 events per month (number of days varies)
